This guide walks you through creating the integration between your Ally Home and Leanheat Monitor. You'll generate a pairing code in Leanheat Monitor, then use it in the Ally App to establish the connection. The entire process takes about 5 minutes.
Before you start:
- Ensure you have both Leanheat Monitor access and the Ally App installed
- Make sure Vacation mode is NOT activated in your Ally App
- Confirm devices are in the correct Mode (Manual or Schedule) before integrating
- The pairing code is valid for 7 days
Create Integration in Leanheat Monitor
First, you'll create the integration in Leanheat Monitor, which generates a unique pairing code for your Ally Home.
Step 1: Access the Ally Integration Page
- Log in to Leanheat Monitor
- Click Admin in the main navigation
- Click Ally™ from the admin menu
Step 2: Generate Pairing Code
- Click + Create
- Enter a descriptive name for the integration (e.g., "BuildingA_Floor1")
- Click Confirm
💡 Naming tip: Use a clear naming convention like "BuildingName_FloorNumber" to easily identify integrations when you have multiple Ally Homes.
Step 3: View Your Pairing Code
After clicking Confirm, you'll see three ways to share the pairing code with the Ally App:
- Option 1: Scan the QR code
- Option 2: Copy the text code
- Option 3: Manually enter the code
The code appears as a 6-character format (example: ccbbaa).
⚠️ Important:
- The pairing code is valid for 7 days
- If you don't complete integration immediately, the status shows "Pending"
- You can renew the code by clicking the 3-dot menu if it expires
Keep this Leanheat Monitor window open or note the code. You'll need it in the next section when working in the Ally App.
Enable Integration in Ally App
Now you'll switch to the Ally App to complete the pairing process.
Step 4: Navigate to Data Integration in Ally App
You have two navigation paths (choose either):
Path A:
- Open Ally App
- Tap Me (bottom navigation)
- Tap Home Management
- Select the Home you want to integrate
- Tap Data integration
Path B:
- Open Ally App
- Tap the current Home name (top of screen)
- Tap Home Management
- Select the Home you want to integrate
- Tap Data Integration
Step 5: Add Leanheat Monitor Integration
- Tap Leanheat Monitor
- Tap Add integration
- Tap Next
Step 6: Pair Using Your Preferred Method
Choose one of three methods:
Method 1: QR Code Scan (Recommended)
- When prompted, tap Allow to grant camera access (first time only)
- Point your camera at the QR code shown in Leanheat Monitor
- The pairing code appears automatically
- Tap Pair
Method 2: Paste Code
- Copy the code from Leanheat Monitor
- Paste it into the code field in Ally App
- Tap Pair
Method 3: Manual Entry
- Type the 6-character code manually
- Tap Pair
Step 7: Verify Successful Integration
You'll know the integration succeeded when you see:
In Ally App:
- Success message appears
- Integration status shows Enabled in the Data Integration list
Step 8: Confirm in Leanheat Monitor
- Return to Leanheat Monitor
- Refresh the Ally integration page
- Status changes from "Pending" to Enabled
Step 9: Verify Device Lock Status
After integration is enabled, devices are locked to prevent conflicts between the two systems:
- In Ally App, select any eTRV device
- You'll see a banner: "Home control via Data Integration"
What "Home control via Data Integration" means:
Once integration is enabled, Leanheat Monitor takes control of device settings. You'll manage temperature setpoints, schedules, and modes from Leanheat Monitor instead of the Ally App.
What Happens Next
Integration is now complete. Here's what you can do next:
- Connect your devices - Import devices from this Ally Home into Leanheat Monitor
- Set up device classifications - Organize devices with tags and filters
- Configure initial settings - Review temperature setpoints and schedules
Troubleshooting
Problem: QR Code Won't Scan
Ensure good lighting, hold phone steady, or try manual code entry instead.
Problem: Code Shows as Invalid
Check if code expired (7-day limit). Generate new code in Leanheat Monitor.
Problem: Integration Status Stuck on "Pending"
Verify you completed pairing in Ally App. Check internet connection on both devices.
Problem: Can't Find Leanheat Monitor in Data Integration List
Update Ally App to latest version.
