In this guide you will learn how to add and manage meters in Leanheat Monitor.
Meters can be added in to Leanheat Monitor in two different ways.
- Device meter (The device e.g. ECL reads the meter and then Leanheat Monitor reads from the ECL)
- M-bus meter (Leanheat Monitor reads directly from the meter via M-bus)
A device meter will store data and show live data for the following measurements:
- Energy
- Volume
- Flow
- Power
- Supply temperature
- Return temperature
Meter live data is seen on the right hand side of the flow diagram.
Adding a device meter
To add a meter as a device meter connect it to the M-bus terminals on the ECL and execute the scan command on the ECL. To execute the scan command navigate to the device in Leanheat Monitor to which you connected the meter to. On the right hand side click the gear icon to open the settings and click on "M-bus". Click command and select "Scan". The scanning can take up to 20 minutes and after the meters you connected are visible in Leanheat Monitor.
If you would like to store any other data that the meter is reading you have to add the meter as an M-bus meter in Leanheat Monitor.
Adding an M-bus meter
To add a meter as an M-bus meter navigate to the "Devices" tab and select a device you wish to add the meter to. Click on the "Meters" tab above the flow diagram and click "+ Add mbus meter". In the first step enter the meter name and the M-bus address. After Leanheat Monitor reads the meter you will see manufacturer information and you need to select the readings period of the meter and the meter slot (meter slot represents the consecutive meter number). In the next step tick the check box next to the registers you would like to be displayed and the data stored in Leanheat Monitor. For each register also verify/pick the correct suffix from the possible options which are displayed in the drop down menu when clicking "Suffix". To finish adding the meter click "Save".
Meter metadata
To edit meter metadata such as meter name, replacement date and meter purpose (billing, control, production, consumption) navigate to the device which has the meter connected, click on the "Meters" tab above the flow diagram, select the meter you would like to view and edit the metadata of from the list and click "Edit".
Meter replacement dates need to be set to use see the dates in the "Next replacement date" widget.
Meter replacements
Meter replacements are necessary to make in Leanheat Monitor when a meter is replaced physically we have to enter the accumulated values (volume, energy, tariff) from the previous meter and the accumulated values from the new meter. This is to ensure that the reports created in Leanheat Monitor keep accurate values.
To enter a meter replacement firstly click on the device in the "Devices" tab which has the meter that was replaced connected. On the selected device navigate to the "Meters" tab which is the fifth tab from left to right above the flow diagram. Next click on the meter that was replaced, click on the "Meter replacements" tab under "Basic info" and click "+ Add meter replacement". In the menu that opens enter the accumulated values of the "old" meter and accumulated values of the "new" meter. To finish the meter replacement process click "Save".
