This guide shows you how to configure heating schedules for Ally devices in Schedule mode, including setting schedule periods and adjusting daily schedules.
⚠️ Important: Schedules only apply to devices in Schedule mode. Devices in Manual mode maintain a constant temperature and don't use schedules.
Understanding Schedule Periods
Schedule mode uses three temperature periods throughout each day:
- At Home - Comfort temperature during occupied hours (uses "At Home" setpoint)
- Away - Reduced temperature during unoccupied hours (uses "Away" setpoint)
- Pause - Minimal heating for extended absences (uses "Pause" setpoint)
You define when each period occurs by setting start and end times for each day of the week.
Viewing Current Schedule
Step 1: Select Device
- Go to Device Administration
- Click on a device in Schedule mode
- Note the current schedule period in the Properties tab
The device shows which period is currently active (e.g., "At Home from 6:00 to 22:30").
Step 2: Access Schedule Settings
- Click the edit icon (pencil)
- Click Schedule tab
You'll see the complete weekly schedule showing all periods for each day.
Changing Schedule Periods
Modify Single Day
To change the schedule for one day:
- In the Schedule tab, find the day you want to change
- Change the start time (e.g., change "At Home" from 6:00 to 12:00)
- Change the end time if needed (e.g., keep 22:30 or change to 20:00)
- Click Save
The new schedule takes effect immediately. You can see the updated schedule in both Leanheat Monitor and Ally App.
Add Multiple Periods Per Day
You can create up to 3 "At Home" periods per day:
- Click + next to the day
- Set start and end times for the additional period
- Click Save
Example: Morning period 6:00-8:00, Evening period 17:00-22:00 (away during work hours).
Copy Schedule to Other Days
To replicate a day's schedule:
- Configure the schedule for one day
- Click Copy next to that day
- Select which days to apply the schedule to
- Click Apply
This is useful for applying weekday schedules across Monday-Friday, or weekend schedules across Saturday-Sunday.

Schedule Best Practices
💡 Tips for effective schedules:
- Add warm-up time: Start "At Home" period 30-60 minutes before occupancy
- Use Away, not Pause: Use Away for daily unoccupied periods; reserve Pause for vacations
- Consistent weekday pattern: Keep Monday-Friday identical for easier management
- Group similar spaces: Use bulk operations for floors or buildings with identical schedules
- Test before bulk changes: Configure one device, verify comfort, then apply to others
Seasonal Schedule Adjustments
Spring/Fall (Shoulder Seasons):
- Reduce "At Home" hours as weather warms
- Consider switching some devices to Manual mode at lower setpoint
Summer:
- Set all periods to minimum temperature (frost protection only)
- Or disable integration temporarily if no heating needed
Winter:
- Extend "At Home" periods for maximum comfort
- Reduce Away-to-At Home temperature differential to prevent pipes freezing
Troubleshooting
Problem: Schedule Doesn't Change
Verify device is in Schedule mode (not Manual). Check device is online. Verify you clicked Save after changing schedule. Wait 5-10 minutes for sync.
Problem: Room Too Cold in Morning
Start "At Home" period earlier (add 30-60 minute warm-up time). Increase "Away" overnight temperature slightly. Check radiator valve isn't stuck.
Problem: Bulk Schedule Erased Individual Device Schedules
This happens if you didn't configure all days in bulk operation. Reconfigure affected devices individually. For bulk changes, always configure complete weekly schedule.
Problem: Can't Add Third Period to Day
Maximum of 3 "At Home" periods per day is enforced. Consolidate periods or adjust times to fit within the limit.
